As a family we want to live our lives saying “YES” to God and follow wherever He leads us. For the past 3 years we have been on quite the journey with the Lord, seeking His will for our lives. I served in ministry with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 10 years until the Lord impressed it on our hearts for me to come home to homeschool our children. Shane has been working as a Firefighter/ EMT for the past 5 years, yet all the while his heart was being drawn to ministry. We were just waiting on the Lord’s timing for him to step into ministry and missions full time. In August 2017, the Lord led us to start a ministry with dear friends of ours, Doug and Marcia Pierce, and so Veritas Shapes Ministries (VSM) began. The Lord has united the 4 of us in a desire to go after the younger generation. According to statistics, 92% of people ages 18-25 are leaving the church. We believe the cause of this is lack of knowledge of who God is and who they are in Jesus.
We have recently started meeting with college students from our community college. One of the young men that Shane and Doug meet with gave his life to Jesus about 2 months ago. It is encouraging to see how passionate he is for God! He is ready to leave everything behind and follow Jesus. It is so beautiful to see His people truly grasp and come alive in who God is and who they are as His sons and daughters!

“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few” (Matt. 9:37) and we know without a doubt God is calling us to be some of those workers. We are excited to live out Jesus’ command to “go therefore and make disciples” locally and globally. The conviction to see the world changed for Jesus has moved us to step out of our careers in pursuit of the Great Commission. Come October 31st Shane will be leaving the fire department and we will be a full-time missionary family! It is a little scary to take this step of faith but I am honestly more afraid of not doing it. I know without a doubt that God is asking us to take this leap and we are standing on His promises that He’ll never leave or forsake us.
